The Mountain and Garden Inn, also known as the Merrill House is situated at the base of Woodfords Peak in Alpine County, California on 8 acres where the mountain meets the high plains; a setting staged with apple trees, a vegetable garden, artesian springs, babbling brooks and "Polliwog Lake." The mountain and garden atmosphere transpires serenity and beauty.

This historic bed and breakfast, owned by Linda Merrill, was the dream house of her great-grandmother Mary, who had operated the Merrill Hotel on the original site. The B&B continues to be a popular getaway for skiers, mountain lovers and those who travel Kit Carson Pass.
